"For you are dust and to dust you shall return " -Genesis 3.19
"For you are dust and to dust you shall return " -Genesis 3.19
Please accept our sincere condolences if you are planning a funeral because you recently lost a loved one. We invite you or your family to participate in your loved one’s funeral liturgy as much or as little as you wish.
For your convenience, we have posted the New Testament readings that are most commonly used at Catholic funerals.
Death Certificate and Family Book:
When a loved one passes away, the death certificate must be produced. This document serves as official proof of the person’s passing.
Additionally, the family book (if applicable) helps establish the family’s connection to the parish.
Existing Family Grave in Parish Cemetery:
If the deceased family already has an old family grave within the Begur parish cemetery, they should identify and confirm this with the parish priest.
The priest will guide them on the process of using the existing grave for the burial.
Burial at a Different Parish Cemetery:
In cases where the deceased family wishes to bury their beloved at a different parish cemetery, the parish priest can issue a letter for this purpose.
This letter ensures that the burial is conducted with the necessary permissions and blessings.
Mass Ceremony at a Different Parish:
If the deceased had a Mass ceremony (such as a funeral Mass) at a different parish but wishes to be buried in the Begur parish cemetery, a letter must be produced.
This letter explains the situation and seeks approval for the burial in the Begur cemetery.
Cost of a New Grave:
For those who do not have an existing family grave, the cost of a new grave in the Begur parish cemetery is Rs 25,000/-.
